Happy New Year! Wishing you all a peaceful and prosperous 2025.
In 2024, I had several professional milestones: I illustrated my first wine label! I had my first article commissioned for print! (Details on that forthcoming…) I had my first art showing! I’m anxious to see what opportunities I meet in 2025.
RENDERED will turn 4 this month, and I think it’s time for some change!
RENDERED is where I put out, direct to you, the makings of an art journey. My nature (as a seasoned former English teacher) is to strive to do my research thoroughly, and intellectually responsibly. I certainly don’t do it for the money, but because I find it fascinating and important. Knowing about our food history helps understand why things are the way they are today.
Food is my gateway into history, heritage and legacy, and understanding domestic life. This is where RENDERED intersects with my artwork: my art practice outside of this newsletter is what I affectionately call “Domestic Psychedelia.” This year, I’d like to share that with more of my readers.
Moving forward, paid subscriptions will be more merch-based, and my long-form writing schedule on RENDERED will be slowing down. This is what that’ll look like moving forward:
Full RENDERED essays will be released 3-4 times per year. (Free for all)
On the 1st of each month, I’ll release a shortie: an illustration with a very short text to accompany. (Free for all)
Seasonal Art Medleys will feature news from the studio, and more of my food illustrations. (Free for all)
Monthly Paid Subscribers receive full archive access to TIDBITS narrated essays.
Yearly Paid Subscribers receive, in addition, an Art Pack: Sticker, Zine, choice of 2 postcard-size prints (pictured below).
Art Collector-status Paid Subscribers receive, in addition, an original piece of art. (Postcard-size: Choose from available pieces)
Thank you all for your readership. I look forward to a 2025 filled with curiosity to share.
